Taekwondo combines the best of a 2000 year old tradition of courtesy, humility, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit with a modern, scientific understanding of the human potential.

Taekwondo competition typically involves sparring, breaking, patterns, and self-defense (hosinsul). Presently, sparring is the only Taekwondo discipline that participates in the Olympics which follows the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) competition rules.
